Map For Locating Our Office

Our office is just south of the US 10 exit for the Midland Mall. We are one block south of where US 10 crosses over Eastman Rd. Because Wackerly Rd. parallels US 10 and is so close to US 10, our office is just south of the Wackerly Rd. and Eastman Rd. intersection. We are located behind the accounting firm, Yeo and Yeo. The red star in the image is where 1504 Harcrest Drive is.

Our optical features over 800 fashion frames for the entire family. We carry specialty items such as prescription eyewear for swimming, racketball, basketball, skiing, etc. With our complete line of spectacle lens products and award winning lab, Twin City Optical, you'll have the highest quality eyewear. We offer a one year warranty on the purchase of all glasses. Most importantly, our optical is staffed with board certified opticians.

Scott M. Buckingham, OD

Dr. Buckingham graduated from the Ferris State University College of Optometry in 1988. He has been in practice for over 15 years and assumed leadership of the office in 1994 after the passing of the founder, Dr. Bruce Arnold. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, and Michigan Eye Associates. Dr. Buckingham has been a long time volunteer for the Midland Public Schools and coached both youth baseball and basketball. Dr. Buckingham has been awarded several Midland Daily News Readers Choice Awards. Dr. Buckingham is originally from the Midland/ Coleman area. His wife, Michelle, is also from Midland/ Coleman area and works at Dow Chemical. Dr. and Mrs. Buckingham have one son.

John E. Kaminski, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Kaminski received his Doctorate of Optometry concurrently with a gerontology graduate certificate from the Ohio State University in 1999. He joined Dr. Buckingham in March 2003. Dr. Kaminski's special interests are low vision rehabilitation and geriatric optometry. He has co-authored multiple research studies, teaches at Central Michigan University, and lectures nationally on gerontology/ aging topics. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Kaminski is an active member of the Midland Lions Club and has served four years in the U.S. Army as an imagery intelligence analyst. Dr. Kaminski's hometown is Wyandotte, MI (in the Detroit area). His wife, Dianne, is from Bay City and is a pharmacist at Meijer Pharmacy. Dr. and Mrs. Kaminski have three children.

Jeri, Optician and Office Manager

Jeri is the office manager for our practice. She has been with the office since its founding in 1981. Jeri is a certified optician with the American Board of Opticianry with over 27 years of experience. Jeri coordinates the pre and post operative care of our LASIK (laser vision correction) patients. Many of our patients see Jeri for pretesting before their examinations with Dr. Buckingham and Dr. Kaminski. Jeri has been in the Midland area her whole life along with her husband Rick. They have 4 children, 7 grandchildren, a black lab, Sadie, and a German Shorthair, Remi.

Al, Optician

Al is the primary optician for our office. He has been with the office since 1982. Al is a certified optician with the American Board of Opticianry. With Al's over 27 years of experience in the optical business, many common problems with frames and lenses are easily handled. Al also performs much of the specialized testing in the office such as visual field testing and ocular photography. Al is married to his wife Paula, has 3 children, 8 grandchildren and his mini dachsund Rufus.

Celestina "Cella" is our receptionist and assists patients in the check in process. She is the first contact for many of our patients visiting our office. "Cella" has experience in retail management.

Sylvia is our contact lens technician and assists patients in the check out process. Many of our new contact lens wearers receive their training from her. She has an extensive background in the manufacturing process for spectacles. Sylvia has been an optician for over 19 years and is ABO certified. Sylvia moved here from Texas with her husband, Bill, who is a Midland native. They have 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and a dog, Cosmo.

Lindsay, Optometric Technician

Lindsay is one of our 2007-08 Co-Op students responsible for pre-testing patients before they see Drs. Buckingham and Kaminski.

Lindsay is a senior at Midland High School. She will be attending Grand Valley State University where she will study nursing and music.

Cameron, Optometric Technician

Cameron is one of our 2007-08 Co-Op students responsible for pre-testing patients before they see Drs. Buckingham and Kaminski.

Cameron is a senior at Midland High School where he is a pitcher for the school's baseball team. He is planning to attend Michigan State University where he hopes to enter the Physician Assistant program.
